Work/Life Balance

Balancing professional pharmaceutical careers and personal responsibilities can be challenging. At Purdue, we recognize this and offer the following programs and services to help employees working at our pharmaceutical company gain a better balance between work and home.

Purdue provides paid vacation time each calendar year based upon position and years of service.

Flexible Work Hours

Purdue’s Flexible Work Hours program was developed to meet the needs of our employees to balance work/life commitments. This program allows employees to adopt a work schedule with hours starting as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late at 10:00 a.m. Eligibility for the program is based on work location and position. A Telecommuting option offers colleagues in a number of functional areas the opportunity to work from home one or two days per week on a regularly scheduled basis.

Commuter Subsidy and Parking Reimbursement

Elect pre-tax dollars up to $130 per month for transit and up to $250 a month for qualified parking expenses. If your commute and qualified parking costs more than that, you may designate post-tax dollars to cover any additional expense.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Purdue provides all employees and their dependents with access to a confidential assessment and referral service through our EAP to assist with life’s challenges. In addition, the EAP provides assistance with locating childcare and eldercare resources.

Back-Up Care

Purdue’s Back-Up Care Program provides up to 10 days of center-based or in-home care per year when regular childcare or eldercare is unavailable.

Adoption Assistance Program

A $5,000 adoption assistance benefit (subject to withholding tax) will be provided to an employee who adopts a child.

Tuition Reimbursement Program

Purdue encourages the education, training, and development of employees that is consistent with both organizational needs and individual career development for current positions as well as new positions. The Tuition Reimbursement Program may provide assistance with paying qualifying tuition costs.

Section 529 College Savings Plan

This plan provides an after-tax opportunity for college savings for employees or their children or grandchildren.
