Prescription Drug Safety: Providing Relief, Preventing Abuse
Realizing that medications may be misused or abused, Purdue has taken a leading role in addressing the serious public health issues of pharmaceutical drug diversion and abuse through a wide variety of educational and prescription drug abuse interventional programs.
Activities include educational offerings for the healthcare and law enforcement communities and public awareness programs for teenagers, parents, and educators on the dangers of pharmaceutical drug abuse. Additionally, Purdue has supported the implementation of state prescription drug monitoring programs to help reduce prescription fraud and doctor shopping.

The company has developed RxSafetyMatters.org to help healthcare professionals, families and communities, and law enforcement officials learn about and utilize resources it provides to help reduce the abuse and diversion of prescription medications.
Safeguard My Meds
Safeguard My Meds is a national educational program from Purdue Pharma L.P. and the National Community Pharmacists Association to increase awareness about the importance of safe storage and disposal of prescription medicine in an effort to reduce the risk of misuse and abuse. Medicine Cabinet Public Service Campaign
