Prescription Drug Safety: Providing Relief, Preventing Abuse

Realizing that medications may be misused or abused, Purdue has taken a leading role in addressing the serious public health issues of pharmaceutical drug diversion and abuse through a wide variety of educational and prescription drug abuse interventional programs.

Activities include educational offerings for the healthcare and law enforcement communities and public awareness programs for teenagers, parents, and educators on the dangers of pharmaceutical drug abuse. Additionally, Purdue has supported the implementation of state prescription drug monitoring programs to help reduce prescription fraud and doctor shopping.
