Q. When was Purdue founded?

A. The Purdue Frederick Company was founded in 1892 in New York City by Dr. John Purdue Gray and George Frederick Bingham. It began its development as a modern, innovative pharmaceutical company when it was acquired by its current Board of Directors in 1952. As part of that process, Purdue Pharma L.P. was formed in 1991 to research, develop, produce, market, sell, distribute, and license analgesic medications and other pharmaceutical products.
