Alliances and Partnerships

In today's competitive marketplace, alliances provide value-enhancing opportunities for companies to share information, capitalize on synergies, explore new areas of research, and bring unique products to market.

At Purdue, we place great value on our relationships with companies that share our goals and vision. Purdue was built on a foundation of licensed products, starting with the popular Senokot® laxatives and Betadine® microbicides. Today, we actively seek to in-license both new products and new product development opportunities in pain management and related therapeutic areas. By building strong alliances with high-quality organizations, we bring effective medications to market that provide new and improved treatments for diseases and their symptoms, and deliver the best possible care for patients in pain.

Purdue is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company with expertise in research, clinical development, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, marketing, and sales. A dedicated Alliance Management function ensures that every dimension and detail involved in our collaborations gets the attention it deserves. Our highly effective marketing organization and world-class sales force provide the expertise to commercialize new products quickly and effectively.

Purdue has developed long-standing expertise in pain management. We work extensively with physicians, opinion leaders, and patient advocacy groups to ensure that pain is appropriately recognized and treated. Purdue’s medical education initiatives were at the forefront of acknowledging the unmet needs of pain patients.

Purdue is also a leader in the area of risk management for controlled substances. We work extensively with law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, and other interested parties to combat the abuse and diversion of our products. Purdue developed the state-of-the-art RADARS® (Researched Abuse, Diversion, and Addiction-Related Surveillance) System to identify geographic regions of potential product abuse and diversion, a system now operated by a not-for-profit, third-party entity to monitor potentially abusable medications of other pharmaceutical companies as well as our own. We also work with distribution channels and law enforcement agencies to assist in reducing diversion and illegal use of controlled substances.

Purdue has regulatory expertise and experience in gaining approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for medicines to treat chronic pain. We have conducted extensive research and worked closely with the FDA on advancing the research and development of analgesics that will provide safe and effective pain relief to patients and be less desirable to drug abusers.

Purdue has a number of drug development and product marketing alliances, including:
