Commuter Benefits

Commuter Transportation/Parking:

Purdue participates in the “Qualified Transportation Expenses (QTE) Fringe Benefit Plan,” administered through the TransitChek Account Management System (TAMS). The Plan enables colleagues to use pre-tax and post-tax dollars to pay for their commute via payroll deduction. Through this self-service, online system, you may elect to designate pre-tax dollars up to $130 per month for transit and up to $250 a month for qualified parking expenses. If your commute and qualified parking costs more than that, you may designate post-tax dollars to cover any additional expense. Participation in the Plan is completely voluntary.

Guaranteed Ride Home Program:

The “Guaranteed Ride Home” program eliminates the worry of our employees who arrive at work via mass transit and need to get home in case of an emergency. A personal emergency may include, but is not limited to, personal illness or illness of a family member. In the event of an emergency, the company will arrange prepaid transportation home. The following modes of transportation may be used: a prepaid taxi, emergency shuttle service to the train station or commuter lot, or the use of a company vehicle.
