Conservation, Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship

We are serious about our responsibility to help preserve the environment through innovative practices that reduce industrial waste and conserve energy, water, and fuel.

Environmental and Energy Conservation

  • A renovation of our 500,000-square-foot corporate headquarters resulted in a 44% reduction of annual electric consumption, saving enough kilowatt-hours of electricity to power approximately 1,300 homes each year.
  • In our Wilson, North Carolina manufacturing plant, we recover water used in the manufacturing process for use in cooling towers and landscape irrigation systems.
  • Our laboratory and manufacturing processes are engineered and our inventories managed to produce as little waste as possible.
  • Our facilities employ single-stream recycling, battery return, and best practices in technical equipment reuse.
  • We support nonprofits focused on environmental conservation including SoundWaters, the Maritime Aquarium, the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, and Mill River Collaborative.
